+ What is Invest Research Valley?

Invest Research Valley is a program designed to take The Research Valley to the next level of economic development success. This program requires engagement and participation from the private sector and Texas A&M University System components located in Bryan-College Station.

+ Why Invest Research Valley now?

Due to a focus by the Texas A&M University System on commercialization and economic development, the opportunity exists to proactively enhance our area’s economy through diversification. That’s the good news. The bad news is that we are in intense competition and other cities, states, and nations are constantly thinking of ways to take away assets from our world-class community. We need to proactively market for business attraction to create jobs that address our underemployment and knowledge worker leakage issues. Invest Research Valley provides a way for the private sector to have a voice in the economic development of  the Research Valley. 

+ How are you different from the Bryan College Station Chamber of Commerce?

We are a close partner to the Chamber of Commerce. Unlike other communities where economic development is a chamber of commerce function, The Research Valley Partnership truly serves as the economic development partnership bringing together Texas A&M University and the community. Being an investor in The Research Valley Partnership is a long-term investment in our future economic progress. We need greater private sector engagement.

 + Will my investment bring a return?

The Research Valley Partnership has a track record of success and by being an investor you have an inside track to what is going on in the area. Over a ten-year period, we have assisted 65 projects adding $2,463,794,637 in total payrolls and $324,428,822 in capital investment to our community.  These projects created 1,887 new permanent jobs and a demand for new residential property from workers moving to the community to take jobs at the projects assisted by The RVP, adding a total of $335,458,779 to local tax rolls.  Recent advancements in our community’s biotechnology and healthcare capabilities are making headlines around the globe.  The potential to grow a healthy, diverse economy that grows and attracts good-paying jobs for our citizens is at an all-time high.

+ Is the Invest Research Valley just for “big business”?

No. The Research Valley is an economy built on entrepreneurship and small to medium sized businesses most of which having some connectivity to Texas A&M University. Invest Research Valley encourages individuals and businesses to help guide the future of the Research Valley.   

+ How will Invest Research Valley money be used?

Invest Research Valley is about taking the Partnership’s economic development to the next level by building our Partnership to include those who have historically not been engaged. Invest Research Valley funds will be used proactively to seek and assist economic development projects and to continue the development of our innovation ecosystem and allow an opportunity for our investors to be the most informed individuals in the Research Valley.
